Join the Team!
We’re always looking for volunteers to help at our permanent clinic in Huertos Familiares, as well as our mobile clinic during campaigns.
It’s a great way to help the Cozumel community while caring for adorable cats and dogs.
It’s also a great chance to get to know other like-minded people on the island!
Most of our positions only require a minimum commitment of 4 to 5 hours per week or for dog walkers even less!
Pre-Surgery Care Volunteers
We need people to assist our veterinarian technicians to prepare the animals for surgery. This involves cleaning, shaving and disinfecting the animals while they are unconscious and taking them into surgery. You’ll also take them to our recovery room after surgery.
Post-Surgery Care Volunteers
We also need volunteers to assist after surgery by sitting in the recovery room with the animals and checking on them as they slowly wake up. You can give some cuddles, help them back into their carriers and return them to their owners when they come to collect them.
You’ll be needed between 8am and 1.30pm (approx) from Monday to Friday or whichever day/s you choose.
Dog Walking Volunteers
We often have dogs on our premises who are going though treatment or waiting to be picked up by new foster parents. There are some nice quiet streets around our premises where the dogs can let off some steam and you can enjoy the surroundings!
You’ll be needed for however much time you can spare between 7:30am and 10am (before it gets too hot!) from Monday to Sunday, or whichever day/s you choose.
Driving Volunteers
We’re looking for confident and careful drivers to transport animals to and from different locations. You’ll be driving our H-100 pick-up truck.
The schedule for collection of animals is between 6am and 8am (approx) from Monday to Saturday, or whichever day/s you choose.
The schedule for return of animals is between 1pm and 3pm (approx) from Monday to Saurday, or whichever days you choose.
Mobile Clinic Volunteers
We run campaigns in different areas of Cozumel on a monthly basis.
We need volunteers for pre-surgery and post-surgery care as above.
We also need people who can drive our mobile clinic van (Ford Ecoline XLT).
