Luna is about 6 years old, weighs 8 kg (18 lbs), and is a small-to-medium-sized dog who has come a long way in learning to trust people again.

She is calm, gentle, and incredibly sweet. Once she gets to know you, she enjoys affection and continues to grow more confident every day. She simply needs someone who will respect her pace and allow her the time she needs to feel safe.

🐶 Luna gets along very well with small and medium-sized dogs, who help her feel secure and continue building her confidence.

🐱 She also lives peacefully with cats.

🐕 Large dogs intimidate her, so we’re looking for a home without any big dogs.

Luna would be happy as the only dog in the home, receiving all the love and attention she deserves. She could also do wonderfully with a family that already has one or two small or medium-sized dogs who can help her feel safe and become her companions.

She is still learning to wear a collar and walk on a leash, so she isn’t ready for neighborhood walks yet. If she has access to a fully secure yard, she has no problem going potty outside.

It is very important that her new home is completely secure, with no chance of escape, as she can still become frightened and run if she finds an open exit.

We are looking for a patient, loving, and committed family who will give Luna the time she needs to continue discovering what it means to feel safe, protected, and truly loved.

We know that with the right home, Luna will continue to blossom into an amazing companion.

If you think you could give Luna the loving forever home she deserves, please send us a message to learn more about our adoption process.

And if you’re not able to adopt, sharing her story could help her find the family she’s been waiting for.

We are continually evolving to meet the needs of the island’s animals. At this time, we urgently need to expand our surgery, preparation, and recovery areas to keep pace with our ongoing TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) program. In addition to our clinic work, we support independent rescuers by sharing donated food and supplies, providing free sterilizations for their rescues, and assisting with urgent medical care.

Every donation directly contributes to improving the lives of Cozumel’s dogs and cats, ensuring they receive the care and compassion they deserve.

We must continue raising funds not only for sterilizations, but also to vaccinate Cozumel’s animals against some of the most devastating and painful diseases still prevalent on the island—such as heartworm and distemper.

Your support makes this possible. Please, help us help them!
