During one of our TNR missions in May, this sweet little mama, Amber, was brought to us for sterilization, along with her four kittens. We just couldn’t bring ourselves to return her babies to the streets, as per our TNR protocol. They were just so little, we knew they weren’t likely going to survive. So, of course, we kept them. But then, could we really separate them from their mother so soon? Of course not. Despite how young she is herself, it was clear that she was an excellent caregiver for all her kittens. So we kept Amber too!
As a new mom, she’s very protective. Little by little, she is gaining confidence. It’s beautiful to for us to see her shy and timid nature transform into playful curiosity. We know it’s impossible to find homes for all of the island’s stray cats and kittens, but maybe we can give Amber a chance? It’s up to you.
It takes someone with an extra-large heart that is overflowing with kindness and compassion to give her the loving home she deserves. At only 10 months old, Amber still has a long life ahead of her.
